Ubisoft to Bring Free DLC Love to Assassins Everywhere on December 14th

Well, you literal backstabbers, you can acquire a new target; namely Animus Project Update 1.0. Ubisoft has not only enticed players of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood with an announcement of upcoming DLC, but has overjoyed them with the idea that it will be 100% free.

The DLC, which hits virtual shelves on December 14th, will include a new mode and a completely new map. The new mode, Advanced Alliance Mode, will be very similar to the existing Alliance Mode, but will definitely be much more challenging.

As far as the new map is concerned, be forewarned, this isn't just a regurgitation or addition to the already enormous streets of Rome. This is a completely new area. The location is said to take place in Normandy, France and will consist of "narrow streets, high-perched bell tower and multi-leveled architecture."

You know what that means, right? You had better put down the multiplayer and finish up that single player of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood before December 14th hits!

Video: Read Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare

There is one thing that's a forgone conclusion at this point; We are very much in the decade of the Zombie. Just when you thought Zombies couldn't make it to the old west Rockstar goes and changes all of that. In the next DLC pack for Read Dead Redemption -- Undead Nightmare, comes a largely single player focused bit of content where a zombie plague has hit the frontier and John Marston goes about finding a cure to the plague. Also the DLC will include "brand new gameplay mechanics, weapons, zombie animals, mythical creatures and even a brand new secret location."

Bioshock 2's last bit of DLC revealed

The main draw to Bioshock in general is most definitely its atmosphere and single player uneasiness as you traverse the weirdness that is Rapture. Unfortunately once you make it to the end of the game in principle that's it. Turn off the lights, the adventure is over in classic terms, but not with the new era of Downloadbable Content.

Announced today to be released for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC -- Minerva's Den is to add on substantial single player content where you aren't a Big Daddy, but a mere "normal" human as you align with Tenenbaum "to unravel a dictator’s stranglehold on a key district in the distinctive city under the sea."

“Minerva’s Den is a substantial addition that will give players more of what they’re looking for: more story, more narrative, more gameplay and more of Rapture,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “The core team has created an exciting product that further enhances the mystery and allure of the world of Rapture. Minerva’s Den will be a fitting conclusion to the BioShock 2 saga.”

Minerva's Den is to be released sometime in fall 2010.
