Ubisoft to Bring Free DLC Love to Assassins Everywhere on December 14th

Well, you literal backstabbers, you can acquire a new target; namely Animus Project Update 1.0. Ubisoft has not only enticed players of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood with an announcement of upcoming DLC, but has overjoyed them with the idea that it will be 100% free.

The DLC, which hits virtual shelves on December 14th, will include a new mode and a completely new map. The new mode, Advanced Alliance Mode, will be very similar to the existing Alliance Mode, but will definitely be much more challenging.

As far as the new map is concerned, be forewarned, this isn't just a regurgitation or addition to the already enormous streets of Rome. This is a completely new area. The location is said to take place in Normandy, France and will consist of "narrow streets, high-perched bell tower and multi-leveled architecture."

You know what that means, right? You had better put down the multiplayer and finish up that single player of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood before December 14th hits!

Mark Wahlberg Cast as Nathan Drake in Uncharted Movie

We've been keeping our eye on the potential for an movie franchise based on one of the most cinematic games of all-time, Uncharted, but this looks like it might be the first signs of life in this rumor.

Mark Wahlberg, producer of Entourage and Boardwalk Empire, and star of such movies as The Departed, The Italian Job, and Max Payne, has confirmed to MTV that he has been cast as Nathan Drake, the lead role, in the upcoming Uncharted film. Not only did he confirm that, but he confirmed rumors that the crew was looking to cast Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci in support roles for the film.

We personally love the pick, as he not only has the look of Drake, but also the right amount of quirkiness mixed with bad-assness. Check out our comparison below and let us know how well you think the two guys match up.

Rock Band 3 gets more Skynyrd, Bad Company and 38 Special

Every week, Harmonix continues their tradition of being the top providing of downloadable content in video games today. This week, we got John Lennon's entire legendary album, Imagine, and now this week, Rock Band 3 players will be able to download tracks from some very classic artists.

The main event this week will definitely be Lynyrd Skynyrd. Skynyrd, who already has huge hits like "Gimme Three Steps", "Simple Man" and "Free Bird" on Rock Band, will be providing even more of their classics, including the coveted "Tuesday's Gone" and "Sweet Home Alabama".

Supporting acts from next week include 38 Special and Bad Company. 38 Special will be bringing their hit "Hold on Loosely" and Bad Company will be providing "Can't Get Enough". People may remember "Hold on Loosely" from Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's, which should foster some good memories.

The tracks will be $2 a piece or $7 for the Lynyrd Skynyrd four-pack. Also, if you own a Pro-Guitar controller, you can upgrade all of the charts (except for "Tuesday's Gone") for an additional $1 each. Check out the full list below and get ready to take things to the south this Tuesday!

GameFly Begins Using FastReturn to Decrease Shipping Time!

If you're anything like us, you have a very love-hate relationship with the online game renting service, GameFly. The service has an amazing inventory ranging from brand new to last generation games, but there have always been a few issues.

The main issue that most people have is that it can be very difficult to get new games. GameFly has gotten noticeably better about stocking newer titles as of late, but the issue of shipping/receiving time has remained the elephant in the room.

Today, GameFly began utilizing a similar service to that of Netflix in order to decrease time in between games. With FastReturn, the United States Postal Service will scan the game upon receipt and let GameFly know that the game is on its way. Once GameFly hears about this, they will ready your next game for shipment and send it on its way to your home! This shows amazing promise and will do wonders to increase customer satisfaction.

Check out the full details regarding this announcement below and click here to get started with GameFly and you'll also get a free month of renting in the process!

In partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, GameFly has launched our FastReturn® service to improve turnaround time. This means improved shipping times for GameFly members!

FastReturn® will start the processing of your next game as soon as we receive confirmation from the U.S. Postal Service that a game has been returned in the mail. You may no longer need to wait until we receive the returned game in our warehouse before we send the next available game in Your GameQ!

NOTE: The USPS does not have scanning equipment in all locations. Therefore, not all GameFly members will be able to participate in this service.

Amazon leaks Uncharted 3: World of Deceit

According to a Game Informer report, Amazon.fr, the French division of Amazon.com, may have leaked the next chapter of the wildly successful and popular Uncharted series. The listing features the above logo as a part of a placeholder boxart.

We're hoping, as well as millions of PS3 owners, that this comes true and we have a sequel to last year's Game of the Year. No other information is available on the listing, other than the potential weight, but we definitely hope this is true. Keep an eye and ear out for more details forthcoming from developer Naughty Dog and keep your fingers crossed!

Sega Announces Next Batch of Dreamcast Digital Titles!

You likely won't find a stranger combination of two titles announced side-by-side in recent history. After Sonic Adventure was brought into the current generation, with Crazy Taxi not far behind it next month, Sega thought it might be time to announce the next two Dreamcast titles that would be available as digital downloads for the current gen consoles.

The first title announced today by Sega is the ever popular Space Channel 5 - Part 2. The title is a rhythm based game that follows a dancing reporter as she battles through waves of Rhythm Rogues. The title is a cult classic and even features SPACE MICHAEL JACKSON. Don't believe us? Check out the awesomeness at the bottom of the post!

The other title was one of the most popular and acclaimed titles in the history of the console, Sega Bass Fishing. Taking a page out of Nintendo's playbook for this title, Sega decided to actually produce a fishing rod peripheral for use with this title. We hope that the current fishing rod peripheral for other current-gen titles will work with Sega Bass Fishing, as the title was never the same when you just used your controller.

What do you think about this announcement? Is Sega bringing the right titles out from the impressive library of Dreamcast titles? What titles would you like to see next? Leave us your thoughts below!

Angry Birds launches onto a Droid near you!

Anybody that has an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad should have played the mobile phenomenon, Angry Birds, by now. The game has quickly become one of the most popular titles in the Apple app store, but has so far evaded the popular, up and coming Android platform.

Not only is the game available now for Droid, but the full-version of the game is 100% free! That's right, the much-anticipated title will cost you nothing to grab the full-version. The only catch is that there is a little in-game advertising, but it really isn't that noticeable. If it really bothers you that much, Rovio Mobile has announced that a paid version will be available somewhere down the road that will be completely ad-free. We're expecting that to cost around $3, like it does on the Apple platform.

The challenge with programming for the Droid platform is that, unlike the uniformed Apple platform, each phone is manufactured by a different company, therefore, each phone handles apps differently. Unfortunately, phones, like the Wildfire, that use QVGA displays cannot run the game, but we can report that the app runs flawlessly on newer phones like the Droid Incredible.

The app is available on GetJar as of today. GetJar's official Twitter page actually reported "90k downloads in seconds" and that the demand for the game actually crashed their servers. As of this time, GetJar is back up and running.

Stay tuned for our official review of Angry Birds and happy pig smashing!
